Owl Watching

Spotted this evening at around 7pm

I really love having these owls so close to the house. The adult birds are (wisely) elusive but their young, when you are lucky enough to spot them, just sit there staring back. As they mature, they too, become shy and elusive.

Obviously these pictures were taken using magnification.

Wow! Lovely. And great series of pictures too. I saw a fox trotting along a secondary road the other day - he turned up a labe into a field as I drove up. Didn't have my camera!
Hope Pearlie is doing ok - she will be rather doped up and uncomfortable for a while, I would think.

I can't tell you how much i love these owls. I can see the most magnificent owls in captivity (a horror story) but they are nothing compared to seeing these ordinary long eared owls in freedom.
