Turning Japanese

So these two oul duffers were watching Letters from Iwo Jima and she says to him,

You know Bert, I think this is a far better film than Flags of our Fathers.

And he says,

I'm liking it more too.

And she says,

And you know something else? You know how in Flags of our Fathers we couldn't tell one American soldier from another...?

Aye. They all look the same as one other in their uniforms, roaring and shouting and waving guns about. You wouldn't know who was who.

But I'm having no trouble at all differentiating between these Japanese fellers.

Me neither.

Funny that.

Really loved Letters from Iwo Jima, I also thought it was the better of the two films.

Now that is strange isn't it? It is usually the other way round. haven't seen either film yet though.

Letters from Iwo Jima was the better film. I think the reason I identified more with the characters is because they more sympathetically drawn. That, too, made them easier to identify, even in the battle scenes.
