Oh deary me - as if accidentally playing a Scrabulous game in Italian weren't bad enough I think I might have sent a Happy Birthday Ed message to 51 of my 52 Facebook friends. If you're the one I left out please don't be offended.
And seeing as I'm not entirely in my senses I think I'll start the (true) rumour - the one about the certain person who secretly lusts after and adores London's new mayor.
I hope its the latter!
ReplyDeleteI must've been number 52 and if Ed reads this..
ReplyDeleteBuon Compleanno Ed!
Bun Cumpleani Ed!
At faz tent avguri ad bon cumplean Ed!
D@Ve
ReplyDeleteI put that into Babel's translator and it came back moments later with the following shite:
Good Birthday And! Bun Cumpleani And! At faz tent avguri to Bon cumplean
But what does this mean????? Dear oh dear I am really confused now. Help.
My conclusions are
ReplyDeleteI was intoxicated Dave has Oldtimer's.
According to http://www.shabbir.com/romance/bday.html
ReplyDeleteon "How to say Happy Birthday"
- in Italian, it's Buon Compleanno!
- in Italian (Piedmont), it's Bun Cumpleani!
- in Italian (Romagna),it's At faz tent avguri ad bon cumplean!
but I reckon it's better in Polish...
Wszystkiego Najlepszego! or Wszystkiego najlepszego zokazji urodzin!
wszystkiego najlepszego z okazji urodzin
Thank you kindly for the message, Nelly. And you as well, d@\/e. Although I'm concerned why you're quoting at me something from a website that ends in /romance/...
ReplyDeleteEd, it's that 'old-timers poteen' I got from the hillbillys living in the mountains above Draperstown. I end up reading any website now :-)
