Going Over Home

Martha Byrne

28th July 1926 - 27th April 2011

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger

Travelling through this world of woe
There is no sickness, toil nor danger
In that bright land to which I go
I'm going there to see my Father
And all my loved ones who've gone on
I'm just going over Jordan
I'm just going over home

I know dark clouds will gather 'round me
I know my way is hard and steep
But beauteous fields arise before me
Where God's redeemed their vigils keep
I'm going there to see my mother
She said she'd meet me when I come
So I'm just going over Jordan
I'm just going over home

  2. Thank you Ronni. But I was thinking of you and your loss when I was racing to her this morning - getting perspective. She died peacefully at a great age and for that we are so grateful.

My most sincere condolences. Delurking to say that I have followed your journey, which mirrors my own. Kudos your mother and to all those marvelous women who taught their daughters to do what needs to be done...and the wisdom to know what it is. Jane

  13. A life well lived lives on in those left behind. That will never leave you.

Our prayers, of sorrow and thanksgiving for all the joy you were happy to have, for all the hard, hard work you all put in over the past while, are with you all.

There are no easy good-byes - but love and memories knit together their shawl of comfort in time.

    God bless you all.
