Green Car

I got another car this evening. Bert bought it for me...he'd do anything rather than drive me to work.

Then I drove it to Belfast International to pick up Jamie. Don't ask me what the car looks like because I haven't actually seen it yet. It was dark. I'm told it's green.

Is it still green in the daylight? I mean, youse get daylight over thonder in the colonies, right? Or did the evil Imperialist Brits take that away, too?

A wee photo of your car, surely. And a name. Cars need names.

(I hope all is looking better with you, too. I shall endeavour to potter over at Easter to cheer you up. That shall me one of my mission objectives.)

I'm very disappointed - I thought when you said "green" car you meant one that ran on biogas. Oh well good luck with it.

  6. So what would be a good name for a dark green, 10 year old VW Polo?

    Hestia?

    Chloris? (Might be more apt)

    Sorry, wrong transliteration.

    Khloris.

  9. Khloris sounds like it might be missing an i and a t.

And Hestia doesn't appeal. I used to work for an organisation calling itself Lee Hestia.

Verity? (I was going for Verdi, given the greenness, but it sounded poncey.)

I have now given up on Greek mythology. My thoughts turn to other classical literature.

  11. But it's not a classic(al) car. What about a germanic name? Magda, Gertrude, Waltrud?

    Brumhilda

  13. Melanie. Melanie sounds fun. Or Jemima.

  14. Calling the car Melanie would get confusing as we've a good friend with the same name...and Jemima is my pet name for Hannah's boyfiend.

I like the Hilda idea but not Brum maybe Bum, Bun, or Grunhilda?

    Gretchen?

I thought of Wagner on the way in this morn, but old clever-culture-clogs Wulfie got in there first.

    Grendel?

  17. Are we going down the road of patron saintage now? Where is Ganching when we need her?

    Fidelma?

  18. I like stephen's idea of naming cars after battleships. As a consequence, my next car will have to be called HMS Repulse.

Yes, this will attract questions, but no more than the current ones directed towards Milla.

Mine is currently called Fifi, and is as high maintenance as the name suggests.
