New job. New shoes. New haircut. New camera...
My old camera, a Canon PowerShot A40, 2.0 mega pixels, 3x zoom, weighs a bloody ton, a blow to the head with that camera could kill someone!
Anyway hast served me well but I want a new one. Any recommendations? My budget is around 150 quid. I'm a point and shoot kind of gal.

Hello Mary,
Hope your well. I too am looking for a digital camera and you must go the this website - www.dabs.com. I have bought various things from them before & think their prices are best. I had a wee look & found these 3 which are brill - think I will buy the sony one but you should have a look anyway.
1. Canon Powershot A530 Digital Camera 5mp
2. Sanyo Xacti VPC S7 - 7 megapixel for £100!
3. Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S650 - 7.2 megapixel for £110.00
Happy Hunting!

Thanks Mel. Loking forward to seeing you in April.
Go down to the tower centre and try jessops. try this link and see what you fancy-

The Canon Powershot A540 is well reviewed (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read_opinions.asp?prodkey=canon_a540) and seems to fit the bill.
I'd avoid Dabs, no offence to Mel, they're OK until something breaks then they are a nightmare for aftercare or returns.
At any rate do go to Jessops or Currys or anywhere on the high street and pick the camera up and use it a bit even if you do want to buy of t'internet.
Thanks for all the advice. now that my exam is over I'll settle my head to doing the research.
uch balls. Unfortunately beowulfs advice was just read now - after I bought a camera from Dabs. Damn them - they better be pains in the a'holes or they will feel my wrath.
Happy camera hunting anyway!
