Pity Poor Paris

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton is backing an online petition seeking a pardon of her 45-day prison sentence because she enlivens "mundane" lives.

Well I don't know about the rest of you but my mundane life will certainly be brightened as I think of her doing jail time.

Dry your eyes Paris! If you can't do the time then you shouldn't a done the crime.

I'll bet she gets off anyway.

I don't think anybody ever spanked her, except...well...you know.

It's 45 days, for heaven's sake! It won't be like "A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch!"

She'll do, say 4-5 days, then some fancy lawyer will get her off - then the ensuing publicity storm will increase her fame, fortune and add interest to her public persona.

If she has an ounce of wit she'll use the opportunity to publicly repent and become a figurehead for safe and responsible driving. But she probably won't -having far less intelligence than the average dog.

I did like her website's appeal for people to sign the petition to keep her out of jail.

"Please help and sihn it"

Thick as prize champ.

(Oh, and I wasn't actually at her site, blame the BBC for mentioning it as their quote of the day. Honest.)

So you'll not have 'sihned' it then - you not having been to the site?

Not so much, no. I have a fairly low opinion of drunk drivers at the best of times. Especially ones who insist they should get away with it because of their position.

And anyway, there's bound to be an interesting video of her life in prison. Should keep comedians and satirists in work for years.

What...? We not sentence people by petition?

I can think of a few I'd like to sentence that way, starting with OJ Simpson! LOL!
