Bert found this little object in one of the sheds. It's like a miniature anvil. Anyone know what it might have been used for? We thought it might have been used in making jewellery. It is around 4 inches high.

'Tis upside down. It is actually a boot-scraping-cleaning device.

Mr Bolan - I'm afraid that when I put your suggestion to Bert his reply was,
"That's a load of keek."
Note to self: Try harder at the old humour.
It looks like a modern art machine gun.
But it probably isn't.
I've got two sisters make jewellery. I'm expecting their calls any moment now.
Beakhorn anvil, for silversmiths? It's a little light under the face though and a tad rough on the horn.
Maybe it's all worn out and roughened from cleaning big farmer's boots?
I sounded like I knew what I was talking about there.
On one side is stamped - DYER & CO. LONDON
THe other side is unreadable apart from REG. APP- a---
